If we believe, we'll experience that state of resting. But not if we don't have faith. Heb.4v.3 (The Message Bible)
Talk about looking forward to this long, Labor Day weekend, I know we all are. We need the rest and we need life's full rhythm - which includes the rest time. Our verse today reminds us that the fight of faith is not to make faith work. Faith is a rest; God has done the work. We rest in His unfailing promise though we may have to fight to stand strong until faith's promise fully manifests. Go on and rest; underneath you are the Everlasting Arms!
Blessings on your loooong weekend of resting in faith!
God is using disappointment to strengthen our ability to forget. Life's ever-flowing, new set of adventures requires a squeaky-clean slate of expectation. With the twists and onslaughts and the surprising results to issues to we have prayed hard about, forgetting is taking some effort. Be nimble, a great faith teacher told me yesterday.
Like me, you may have to send your mind to a 12-step program to forget some of the recent events. This is how I had to handle something that was waking me up every hour to push it off my slate. I had to see myself heading to my mind's favorite little cove/harbor,undocking my boat, starting the motor and heading out to the open sea. Forgetting what lies behind. Whatever you have to do to it, do it. Resist the devil and he will flee!
...Stand firm. Eph. 6v.13b Having done everything, stand firm. Eph.6v.13
When does the Word of God work? All the time. The Word is always working. No matter what point you have stepped on the Believing-Train-That-Always-Leads-to-Victory,the Word of God is unfailingly prevailing over the devil.
If I just started believing last night for my new car, it won't be in my garage waiting for this morning. But one morning it will. If I have been standing for my husband's salvation, I won't stop believing because of his behavior. His yelling or golfing obsession or workaholicism is subject to change. But I am not changing trains in the middle of my journey to full manifestation.
Your faith in God's answer is already crippling and defeating the devil TODAY. Even before you and your husband are holding hands in church or your green-haired punk daughter is sewing Praise Banners for Sunday School. The Victory is Won - One Christ Jesus- so stand firm even when it hurts. This moment's light affliction is not to be compared with the glory of His promise manifested in your garage and your in your unbroken family circle.
He will joy over thee with singing. Zeph.3v.17 (KJV)
Last night I began to sing this song for my mother as I prepared her for bed.
Melenda, I know who you are,
In your heart, in your heart, Melenda
I know who you are forever.
She was totally captivated and she began to try to sing "her song" with me. She was almost crying over it.
Melenda, I bow to you.
(Here I stood at the foot of the bed and bowed to her several times and I then came close and kissed her hand.)
Perhaps your "Melenda" is at work while you are making up their bed. Sing over the bed, if your Melenda would be open to being sung over! Sing the song of their deliverance or healing or sweet Jesus-change! Making heaven's melody for them in your heart! Their heart will someday sing along!
For He will give His angels charge concerning you. Ps. 91v.11
My mom's new reclining wheelchair has two long metal "claws" that jut out behind and to the side of each wheel. The "claws" from this blessed chair have carved and gouged my feet as I push or move her new chair many times a day. After another bloody toe-carving, I got it: ANGEL SPURS!
I commanded angels to be in charge on my right foot and my left. I positioned them to stand guard at the back of the new wheelchair. I have this done at stop signs or intersections where I have experienced or seen a "near-miss." I have placed angels at a ceratin corner of my counter-top where everything seemed to break, or fall or spill. They must have sacrificed rabbits on that spot hundreds of years ago!
Put angels to work concerning you ( and yours) this week.
The commandments make me wiser than my enemies...I have more insight than my teachers, for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged...Ps. 119 v.98-100
This Back-to-School weekend is a good time to start your good confessions over your brain- you haven't done so already:
"I will have a sound mind all the days of my life." Say that you are smart, quick and sharp. Look, the world around you is already speaking against the youthfulness of your Blood-bought brain. So what are you saying? Alzheimers is not in your future. Dementia is not crouching at your doorstep. The Life of God is in your brain!
...the kingdom of God is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matt. 13v.45 (NAS)
There I sat in the Dr's waiting room with my mother. Exhausted, I was drinking a cup of their excellent French roast coffee and watching a cooking show. Except for us and two elderly ladies, the big waiting room was empty. This is was not BEFORE Mom's appt, but AFTER she'd gotten the 3 painful knee injections. She was snoozing after fighting the good fight when three of us had restrained her arms and chest. The poordarling's pain had even made her speak out, "You're making it hurt!" to her orthopedist's delight. Why am I sitting this waiting room, I thought to myself, and then my Pearl of the Day walked in.
She asked for the disability insurance forms that were to have been left for her. She was Asian, but her desperation and exhaustion made her instantly my sister. God drew my heart towards her as she - with poor English and politely - wrangled with an indifferent desk clerk about locating the signed forms. I was for her in the battle. Off they sent her to the 2nd floor. How will I find her, Jesus? I knew God wanted me to say something to her.
Meanwhile, back to my coffee and the shrimp lasagna on the cooking show. I left Mom and went and got the van. When I came back in the waiting room, My Pearl was there. I made a beeline to her. Are you a Christian? No? Jesus wants to put Yes, Yes on your papers here. It is hard for you. Jesus wants to help you and this easy. She pulled the papers away from me and hid them against her bosom. I prayed for her, looking into her eyes. When I got up to leave her, she took my hand. What is your name, she asked me: My name is Lee. God bless you, Lee, thank you.
Driving down Hwy 6 in the traffic, all was calm, all was bright. It was a good day.
FATHER: Help me find my pearl today. I will open my mouth and You will fill it with Good News for the poor!
Behold, I do a new thing. Isa.43v.19; My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4v.19 (NAS)
Do you need a new car? Start praying early. I can wait too late- out of fear my old car will get offended or just my flesh's stubborn resistance to A CHANGE that my spirit knows is ahead. Do you need a new house? PRAY NOW! It doesn't have to be long, just begin to breathe out your first petitions. Build your case - with God and with your reluctant self. (Well, my old house would do OK; we could knock out a wall or pray for the neighborhood to get better.)Get out of there and move on up! Something is waiting. For you and on you.
Lord, thank you for my new car. It has 12 miles on it from when they drove it into the showroom. Position the finances, the salesman who favors me, the dealership service dept and perfect everything that concerns my brand new vehicle. I believe I receive it. It is mine now in Jesus' name.
Father, thank you for my new house. I am building (or I am buying it built) a dwelling place for Your glory and a headquarters for my assignment on earth. Spare not! Money come! All the best deals for the best bells and whistles FREE or greatly reduced in the sales package. My neighbours are chosen by heaven and many, new angels are already occupying the property. Today I am sitting in my new living room, looking out the window on my dream.
Pray the NEW prayer with courage and hope for the future. (Jer. 29v.11)
You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures...Ps.36 (AMP)
A plague of sickness broke out in a mountain community felling entire households as the epidemic spread unchecked. When the public health team from the city came, they had to go upstream to find the cause. Dead pigs in the water supply of the mountain community were the source of the sickness.
What is in you - what is in the flow and fabric of your life - is the stream of God's pleasures. You are His pleasure. The stream He is causing us to drink from today is the one composed of our surrender, our worship and our love. What's the stream of your life tasting like today? A little metallic, a little sharp? Do we need to get some Public Health Officials to test the water of your life before the public is allowed to consume it? God knows I have made some people sick in my past!
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God. (Ps.46) Is your life streaming gladness to city of God and the government of heaven. (Boy, the angels say, we're so glad she is awake and ready to rise and shine down on earth today!" You were born to give God pleasure. At His right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Ps 16v.11)
The Bible says sin prophesies to the wicked (Ps.36 v.1(AMP)). Sin tells them they will have your job or husband if they do this or that little bad thing. If that is true, then righteousness can prophesy to us righteous folk. Take the stream flowing out of this Word for Today and ride it all the way to the Heart of His pleasure over you!
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place... Esther 4v.14 (KJV);For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews for another place (NAS)
Just by being a Christian and working at a job, you are doing more than you are getting paid for. As a Christian, you bring light. And since you are the apple of God's eye, His eyes will turn and look at your workplace as His watchful, loving glance follows you all day long. Like Esther in our verse today, the influence you carry is powerful. Like Esther, the choice is yours. Will you use the "extra" you have earned and are owed to influence Destiny? Or will you keep quiet and try to play it safe?
When you are willing to take a stand for what is right, God's way will bring "enlargement", the word used in the King James Version of our scripture for today. (His enlargement sets people free and gets them out of a "tight"). The New American Standard translates it as "relief." Of course, the bully threatens that if you expose yourself, like Esther had to do) you will be doomed and not delivered.
Like Esther, will you spend your "extra" today? It may seem like a sacrifice, but saving your world with a prayer, with a word, with the right memo, will bring a Queen's reward from the King. Who knows whether you got this job for such a time as this?
Then it will come about in that day that the nations will resort to the root of Jesse, who will stand as a signal for the peoples...Isa. 11v.10 (NAS)
Your life is signaling to me today - and to all who live and work around you. A signal conveys information, warnings or commands. The signal of your life is talking to me and telling me things - just life the heavens talk of God's glory in Ps. 19. A signal incites action. What is the signal of your life inspiring me or your teenaged daughter to do today?
I remember a FAST SIGNAL from a French minister after a powerful service in London years ago. As we all sat down to a private, lavish, gourmet dinner in her honor, our hostess turned to me and said, "Agat had bad news from Paris before the meeting. She is fasting; she won't eat." I have never forgotten that signal.
The SLOW SIGNAL is also from Europe. Invited to speak at an Italian Pentecostal church ( where the women wear veils, no make-up and sit on one side of the church), a more seasoned minister, whom I admired, counseled me not to wear lipstick or my very smart business suit. She explained how I could lead the young Pentecostal girls into rebellion by my freedom! Did I want to shock or build?
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Ps.33v.18-19
Are you spinning plates today? Too much to do? The devil's plan for our super fast-paced lives is to wear us saints out. (Dan. 7v.25)) He wants our crowded "to-do" lists to crowd out God. Satan's desire is for a God-famine to be created by my whirlwind of busyness. But if you, like me, have a super-full day ahead of you, let us remember that God said we would flourish in famine. (Ps.92) We can feast on the abundance of His house (Ps. 36v.8) while overcoming a mountain of laundry, interfacing with irate clients at work, handling testy parents at school and tackling the grocery store reconnaissance mission.
FATHER: Feed me with Your food from heaven (John 4v.32) today (while I run, run run)
And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. Neh. 8v.12
Your "understanding" of God's Word gives you joy that strengthens you. (Neh.8 v.10) If you just look lovingly at your Bible sitting on the nightstand or on your desk, the Word won't joyfully strengthen you. You need to "get it." Proverbs tells us to "get it" above all else. Get understanding.
How? Having a teachable spirit is key. Being taught is the main way to get understanding and that means going to church and going to a church that teaches the uncompromised Word of God. Go to Sunday School or the Ladies' Bible Study or whatever extra mid-week service is offered. Set a time for studying the Bible - even for just a few minutes - on your own.
By understanding the house of your life is established. Prov. 24.v.3 Get established and flourish today. And whistle with joy while you work!
I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you? Nehemiah 6v.3
"Transition" is the word I heard for you this morning. It means "a passage from one place, period, state or condition to another place, period, state or condition." It means change. "Authority" is what God has given believers to take charge of every place, period, state or condition in your life and bring each one into agreement and alignment with His will in Christ Jesus FOR YOU!
A Bus Transit Authority or a city's Metropolitan Transit Authority says which bus goes where when. So what is God saying: Take Authority over today's passage! Call today into submission to God's great Plan for your life. Call it blessed, full of the Light of God, happy ( why not call it happy?) and fruitful. Don't come down. Make today come up. Stay with high work on the Highway of Life.
Blessings on your week of building Kingdom dreams!
I have come into my garden, my sister,my (promised) bride;...Song of Solomon 5v.1 (AMP)
In June of this year I began working in our garden, after 2 years of just keeping everything decent-looking. I never understood the passion and the pleasure a garden could bring until my first flowers came up. Now when I turn onto my street heading home and my garden comes into sight, its beauty minsters to me. I get as excited about buying new plants as I do about new clothes.
You are God's garden. He loves sitting and watching you "breathe" more than I love watching these flowers that are here for a fleeting moment. Unlike me, His back doesn't hurt from pulling weeds or working on us too long. And he has all the organic fertilizers from the cattle on a thousand hills and money galore for every kind of garden store tool or gizmo. I am so aware of His pleasure over us. What can separate us form the love of God? No threat, no storm, no scheme! The reason any weapon formed against you FAILS is His great love for His Garden, His sister, His promised bride.
Father: Your Look makes me flourish!
Flourish in the courts of Your God this weekend! Join me tomorrow at HBU from 10am to 12 noon for Disciplined and Anointed for Victory!
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Ps. 45; Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses...Ezra 7v.6; For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord and to do it, and to teach...Ezra 7v.10
The word " ready" means skilful and quick and it comes a from a root word meaning " to be liquid or to flow easily.
Are you ready?
Our other word focus for today is one of my all-time favorites; PREPARE! Believe it or not, "prepare" also means "ready."
Are you ready to teach? If you are a believer, you are called to make disciples and that means teaching. Mothers teach their babies ( & their teenagers & and their middle-agers!). You may not teach in a formal setting, but your knowledge, wisdom and your spirit's special liquid from God are needed as service to your generation.
"Prepared to flow" means you are ready to become liquid and to get beyond your mind's best notes, outlines and rehearsed revelation. What is out there beyond all that good stuff? Only God knows! But only what flows from Him has the power to change lives.
Your face comes before me as I'm at the gas station; a song from the radio of a passing car mentions a name and my spirit remembers a family from church or a sister in the Lord. What is that for? Shamefully, I sometimes don't get it right off. I might just think about you saying,"Isn't she just the sweetest person? Wonder what she is up to?
When your name comes up in my spirit or your face breaks through as I am feeding Mom, your S-O-S is ringing out through the world of the spirit. I need to be looking for a phone booth so I can change into my Superman of Prayer Clothes. Here He Comes To Save The Day! Even if all you pray for that person you are thinking of is : Bless them, Lord or Help them, Lord you are turning the tide of the battle.
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity...but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Timothy 1v.7
How do we change a mediocre moment or an empty or even a bad one into an awesomely unforgettable one? Can you transform "today" and make it "Your Day"? I believe the spirit of discipline is that power we need to bring the "NOW" moment to the bright side of life.
The spirit of discipline ensures your mastery of this Monday Aug 6th moment of your life on earth. I heard a great faith teacher talk of how learning to live strong for God made him wake in the morning with tears of joyful anticipation about the day before him. His former life, he said, made him wake up with depression and dread about the day ahead of him. Come and learn about The Spirit of Discipline as I teach this Saturday - Aug 11th - in our last lesson of this series. It will make you cry with a good "ouch" as Heb. 12v.11 says but it will yield good fruit.
Saturday is coming, but open your RECEIVING doors right now. How do we transform the messy moment, the lop-sided moment or just a regular moment? By putting more of God in it! Hey, it takes discipline to put more God in a tough moment when all hell seems to be fighting to drive every trace of God out of it. Where are your disciplined core muscles of PRAISE? Your automatic faith confession when you are pressured will shape today into a BEAUTY that speaks Jesus, Jesus Jesus to the world around you.
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus...Romans 15v.5
Can't you tell that "likeminded" may not be all that easy? Even if we are not fully certain what the Holy Ghost means by "be likeminded," we're sure we'll need His help! Look, if likemindedness originates from the God of patience, we are going to have to be like Him to be likeminded. "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work..."James 1v.3-4
So it will take Patience's perfect work in me for me be likeminded towards my fellow believers in my church and towards my Christian brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. We are not called to be likeminded towards unbelievers -whether they are unbelieving family members or unbelieving co-workers. Your mind is different from theirs - you have the mind of Christ. They have the mind of last night's newscaster or the mind of a Westheimer bar tender!
Find a place of likemindedness or agreement with those in your church. Is your idea always the best one for how to do the ladies' luncheon? Is the way you arrange the Information Booth the only way it should be done? Prefer your brethren. Are you likeminded towards your Pastor as he talks about the parking lot you feel they should never have asphalted! You have to make your mind agree and you have to like their mind as much (really MORE) than yours! Being likeminded is a work of the Spirit. It goes against the "I've Got A Better Idea" spirit of this age. OUCH!
FATHER: Grant me patience to be likeminded towards my fellow believers!
For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father...(Eph.3v.14); But you, when you pray, go into your inner room...Matt.6v.6
The Bible does not tell us we have to stand to pray or sit or kneel towards the south or north. Aren't you glad? Our Father Art in Heaven and our contact with Him is heart-to-Heart and spirit-to-Spirit anywhere and anytime. But you can choose - and many times we are led - to take certain positions or postures in prayer. "Posture" means: a physical pose as well as a mental attitude.
If I am having a hard time praying in one position, I'll find another one. Sometimes kneeling helps my flesh to obey my spirit's command of "Pray!" I make myself hold certain postures even when part of me doesn't want to. Spiritual warfare is not just against national demons; often the warfare is right within me when my mind wants to start the day's to-do list, but my spirit wants to wait on God. Holding my position of kneeling or stretched out on the floor can help keep my mind quiet.
Not falling asleep while you pray is also important. (Although the young daughter of a friend revealed that angels finish your prayers if you fall asleep while praying!) Dr. Jerry Savelle developed his discipline of early morning prayer by standing on the edge of the bathtub. That posture kept him from falling sleep and failing to open heaven but busting his head open instead!
But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy is enough for you (sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully.) II Cor. 12v.9 (AMP)
When I need it most is usually late night bath-time for my mother. If she is in pain or if the day has been too full, all my natural reserves are depleted. Recently, for three times in a row, during a painful struggle to bathe her ( pain in my back, the bed won't go higher, pain over her frustration), I turned to put the washcloth in the basin and saw a perfect HEART shape in the bath water. Not once, not twice, but 3 times GRACE appeared to me that way.
And you know what - even the times when I didn't look - when I was too tired or too angry to even glance at the basin, I believe the HEART was there in the water waiting for me.
FATHER: Grace me today!
So be it unto you,
with love - Lee Andrews
LEE'S WORD FOR TODAY 1/6/17
SEPARATE FROM PAST BAGGAGE, DIVORCE OLD SIN, MARRY NEW FUTURE IN CHRIST!
Lee's Word for Today 1/6/17
from past baggage
NEW FUTURE IN CHRIST!
And Lot also, which went with Abraham, had flocks and herds and tents. And the land was not able to bear them, for their substance was great...And Abraham said,
"Lot, separate thyself, I pray thee, from me." Genesis 13v.5; ...forgetting what lies behind, straining for what lies ahead. Phil.3v.13
You can't take it with you. "It" means your (unfruitful) way of thinking, your old " it ain't working" way of working. Abraham's nephew was a dear relative, they had so much in common, so many sweet or tough memories shared. How long before we get God saying, "Separate from your old way. There is a new way."
As always with God, you must obey the first step (separate, leave the baggage, drop it,) before the land under your foot's path for the 2nd step appears.
And the Lord said unto to Abraham AFTER that Lot was separated from him:
Lift up now thine eyes from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward. For all the land that thou seetst, to thee will I give it...v.14-17
FATHER: Show me Your new way today! I PRESS TOWARD THE PRIZE!
Love you guys more than you know,
Will you keep silent at this time, Queen Esther? Now that you have prevailed before the King and your petition for deliverance for you and your nation from the evil Haman Hillary, will you decree, reign and use your authority? Not many days hence, about 30, the inauguration of the President God chose and we died for (died to pizza and blueberry pancakes, died to distractions to cry out, some died to fear of voting Republican for the 1st time!)) will be inaugurated.
Though the media is attempting to spread dishonor and rebellion, your intercession for FULL MORDECAI HONOR will crown the event and will also REAP HONOR for you. The honor you intercede for in these 30 days to January 21 is the degree of honor that will (or won't) come to you in the New Year. God is teaching us to reign in this extraordinary season, this amazing Last Days Age. Can you honor a husband if God gave you one, a boss, a mother-in-law, can you honor the Office of the President or the Plan of God? Skimping on honor at this time, will skimp on the Glory of God!
When God's choice is fully honored, - as Mordecai was - God's reward is FULLY given! God gave the people of the nation light ( a new dawn of hope) and gladness and joy and honor. The enemies of the Kingdom were destroyed. Esther 8v.16 Victory is indeed sweet!
....And the king said to Haman/Hillary, what shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor?...Haman answered... Let royal apparel be brought which the king has worn(NOTE: THE ANOINTING)
And the horse which the king has ridden
(NOTE: same as David's instructions for Solomon's inaugurations for David's mule to be ridden)and a royal crown be set upon his head.
Let the apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes. Let him array the man (NOTE: divine order- Mordecai was not putting king's robe on himself- but nobility and established order robing him) whom the king delights to honor and conduct him on horseback through the open square of the city(NOTE: We need to pray for the city- the sea of people to OPEN to Trump and not resist him whom Our king has appointed.)Esther 6v.6-9
The King's instructions in Esther 6v.10 Do so to Mordecai the Jew (Make it happen).
Leave out nothing that you have spoken. (Don't mess this up.)
We need a full Mordecai inauguration. Esther (the church) has prevailed before the King.We won. We Arise, We Shine for Our light has come!
