Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Eph.4v.1.
"You nurture your mother; I can see you're a nurturer of women," my Pastor's wife inspired words surprised me. "Crocodile wrestler" was a better name for my looking after Mom! My spirit received her words, but I had to go home and ponder it to understand.
Nurture means: to nourish, to rear, to educate, to cherish and to foster. Amazingly, the New Testament definition of a teacher is a tutor who nourishes! Like wrestling, it is a one-on-one relationship. Sometimes we think God's highest is a big teaching ministry on TV that enlightens thousands or millions. But His plan is still heart-to-heart impartation.
Some, like my Pastor's wife, have passed the test and are heart-qualified for lofty platforms. Perhaps you are more like me at this stage: I am qualified for take-off just in my Mom's life right now. I wrestle for her (and with her!), so that she has her best life now.
The nourishing love and the light that goes into her from me is heaven-sent. Since my new, holy name of nurturer, I deliberately and on-purpose release it to her in liberal applications daily. Meanwhile, my Mom continues to do what she's done since the day I was born - nurture me!
Father, For every Nurturer reading this, quicken and energize them by Your Spirit to cherish, to nourish and to educate today. Anointed wrestlers!
