But Pekah, the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him and smote him in Samaria...and he killed him, and reigned in his room. 2 Kings 15v.25
"Reigning in the room of" is an expression used several times in the Old Testament when someone takes another's place. The actual Hebrew word for this expression, "tachath" means "in lieu of, instead of, beneath, was mine, place for, room." Today's Word is only for the mature. Is someone in your rightful place?
Years in Rome I translated for guest preachers from the USA, usually for the wives. These wives were usually breathtakingly beautiful and truly anointed. (The Lord blesses His men of God with the best!) One of these Pastors' wives shared how she met and married her husband. When she came to the church, her future husband was engaged to someone else, but God had told her she was to marry him. What was her response to this Divine Information about God's Divine Opinion about the vast difference between the way things were and the way He wanted them to be? Did she dress up like a future Pastor's wife and sit on the front row where he could see her? Did she write a letter to her future husband explaining what God said? Or send a poison-pen letter to the woman who was reigning in her room?
No, none of the above. This petite, doll-like blonde with exquisite bone-structure fasted in secret for a year. Off and on, of course. Your cry against the one reigning in your room who has stolen your husband's heart or stolen your job or stolen your place of influence in the life of a wayward teen child has to be cried before God alone. The God of Justice; The God Jehovah Gomolo who is the Restorer; the God who turns it all around, making you the head and not the tail- putting you above and not beneath!
Father: Get them out of my room! I reign in the place You made for me!
Blessings on your weekend - take your place!
