Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change...Be still and know that I am God. Ps.46
If yesterday for you -and really the past few days- have been anything like mine, you have seen some changes blow up before you. Some of my explosions were overblown threats that proved to be nothing, but others shook things up in a new and at first, unsettling way. The devil loves to blow things out of proportion: he loves to blow up and explode the events of life over us. Remember "shock and awe" as a war tactic?
Are you standing inside one of satan's misshapen explosions today? Shocked and in awe of the evil event? Wrap the Word around it! Even if your mind cannot get around what has happened, the Word of God can. His Prevailing Word already has the power in it to subdue, un-do, overcome and destroy the works of the evil one. He can even make it lie down and beg, as it is forced to work for our good.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Ps.46v.1
Fifty-four years ago my aunt rushed from her Texas Hill country home to her gravely-ill son's bedside at a military hospital in El Paso. The phone call said " Near death; legs will be amputated before you get here." All the way there she prayed Psalm 46 into the black hole that had exploded over her life and her son's. You said you are a present help in trouble. You told me not to fear. I will be still and know that you are God. You will be exalted in all this."
Her son lived - and only his toes were amputated. He walked on his own, worked a normal job & put 3 kids through college. Today that same son is facing surgery again- here in Houston's Veterans Hospital - amputation of a foot from diabetes. He and our family are using that same Unchanging Word. We are enforcing God's present promise to change change into a life-blessing and not a curse of death.
With love, love, love to you,
Your sister,
Lee Andrews
